Have your say to improve the Australian Aged Care system for Seniors from CALD Backgrounds survey available on the Centre's homepage
This survey is designed to gather your insights into the needs of CALD seniors in Australia in accessing and using aged care services. For the purpose of this survey CALD seniors refers to people over 65 years who were born overseas in mainly Non-English Speaking countries. In addition, CALD can also refer to how the older person self-identifies as being culturally and linguistically diverse and how culture and faith is important to them.

It should take no more than 10-15 min to complete. Your input is very important to us.

All information in this survey is confidential.

 Sharing News from the Sector

The Australian Government Department of Health, in partnership with The LOTE Agency and ICON Agency, want to make it easier for senior Australians to access the aged care information they need in their chosen language, and easier for the aged care providers to supply it.

To assist, they’re providing a free translation service to make it easier for the service providers to translate or interpret information on the care and services they provide.

The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing together with Fortis Consulting have developed an informative short infobyte video about Culturally Inclusive feedback. The infobyte aims to give aged care providers some key considerations in applying inclusive approaches to getting feedback from older people from diverse cultural backgrounds. It also has some useful links to further resources on the topic.
